QUITLINE INTERVENTIONIST
COLLEGE OF PUBLIC HEALTH -UAMS

Quitline Interventionists provide effective, evidence-based interventions for tobacco dependence on a telephone quitline. Ideally, applicants will have skill in demonstrating effective counseling theories and strategies to establish a collaborative relationship and facilitate client involvement in treatment and commitment to change. Responsibilities will include Arkansas Tobacco Cessation Network (ATCN) protocols to conduct a comprehensive assessment interview, implement medication and treatment planning, maintain individual participant records, and enter data into a web-based electronic database.

The minimum qualifications are Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Psychology, or related plus 1 year experience in counseling. Master's degree in counseling and/or experience or coursework in individual or group counseling preferred. Ongoing training and clinical supervision provided. Ability to speak Spanish a plus.
